And overhead, colours explode like blooms
on fire, trailing diamonds and sapphires and
all manner of gemstones. Each blossom bursts
amidst sonic booms and high-pitched whistles,
rendering the sky alive with celebratory noise.
New Year's fireworks. There's nothing quite
like them.
